Here is a little peek into a steamy scene from Shadows!

“Stephen?”

“I thought I’d lost you,” he said. Then he stepped forward, grabbed my face in his hands, and kissed me. Pulled me in, hungry and intense, and made me forget who I was.

My whole body tingled as his soft lips claimed mine. Burned me with fiery passion and made me melt into him. He could stop time with just one glance. But a kiss? It not only stopped the world, but it took all rational thought with it. I was a jumbled mess of this-is-wrong and it-feels-so-right.

My hands moved over his chest, felt his taut muscles shift as he slid his down my back to rest at my waist. I traced my fingers around his neck and wove them into his wet hair, pulling lightly at the strands. He moaned with my touch, and I came undone. Putty in his hands. He could have molded me into anything.

Though it stung my lips, I broke our kiss and whispered, “Please tell me you’re here. Tell me I’m not dreaming.”

His hands moved up my stomach, set my skin on fire. “You’re not dreaming.”

He kissed me again, and I wanted more than anything to make his words true. I threw my heart into the equation. Took that thorn in my side and shoved it deeper. He gasped for breath and I wouldn’t let him have it, pulled him closer, ran my nails along the back of his neck and down to his chest. Just when I thought my heart would explode in exultation, his hands ran up my sides, fingers dug painfully into my skin, and he ripped himself away from me.
